Singapore
Wee Shoo Leong was born in 1958 in Singapore, graduated from Nanyang Art Acedamy and went onto study oil painting at Sydney College of the Arts. In 1984 he won the grand prize of the UOB painting of the year art competition.
Many factors make Shoo Leong’s painting charming, His background gives the illusion of movement. Shoo Leong places one object onto the canvas at a time, quite different from what is expected of a painter. Each little aspect of the object has its own dimension and only minimum bright colour is permitted as focus.
