ABOUT

Marjorie Chu has been an art dealer and a gallery owner since 1971.  It can be said that she discovered the second generation of Singapore and Southeast Asian artists.

Now into her fourth decade of art dealing, Marjorie continues to discover and support new and young artists. Visiting their studios and exhibiting their works, she is both the mentor and promoter of new talents.

Marjorie is a Founder Member of the Art Galleries Association of Singapore, Lecturer to Friends of the Museum, Singapore and External Lecturer at Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore.  She is the author of Understanding Contemporary Southeast Asian Art published in Singapore, 2003.

THE GALLERY

The gallery was established by Marjorie Chu in Singapore in 1971 under the name of Raya Gallery, located at the Specialist Centre. The gallery was renamed Art Forum in 1980 when it moved to the Promenade. In 1989 Art Forum acquired a 1920's terrace house at 82 Cairnhill Road and converted it into an exhibition space. Art Forum has been at this address since. The art collection is displayed on a rotating basis.
