Singapore

Born in 1958 in Singapore, graduated from Nanyang Art Academy, went onto study oil painting at Sydney College of the Arts.

In 1984 won the grand price of UOB painting of the year art competition.

Many factors make Shoo Leong’s painting unique; the background of his painting gives the illusion of movement. Shoo Leong places one object onto the canvas at a time, rather than all items in a group before starting to paint.

Thus he ensures that each object has its own ‘life’, dimension and ensuring balance in size, colour and space.
