Born 1915 In China, died in SingaporeGraduated from Yenching University, Beijing, China, studying literature,

Hsi Ching’s art is self-taught.

His works are in the collection of the National Art Gallery Singapore and Nanyang University Art Museum Singapore

His paintings were chosen to represent Singapore in Royal Overseas League Art Exhibition in London and in Singapore Artists Art Exhibition in Moscow.

The key factors in the charm of Hou Hsi Ching’s work are his subtle visual sensibility of the environment of Singapore, Bali, Malaysia and India. This is apparent in his paintings of human figures, landscape and still life, executed in gentle diffused colours of the tropics.
