|Chen KeZhan (1959) first learnt to paint under Chinese master Fan Chang Tien.
He furthered his art education in Hong Kong (1979-1983) under the tutelage of Chao Shao-an, the most renowned Lingnan style artist.
KeZhan’s own style came forth after his sojourn to Paris where he came under the influence of expressionist style.
Through the years he developed his concept from images where the shape of lotus is visible to a later style where the painting is almost totally covered with ink in dry brush technique and ink ‘clouds’. Most importantly one should notice a new dimension in the painting; where through his layers of dark ink KeZhan allows light to come through.
